Lo-Quality WoW

Once again it’s been awhile since I last did a WoW blog. It started when I took a trip back in April and got sick, which put me out of commission for a while. And after that, I just was not playing all that much. Oddly enough, a lot of other hunter blogs I had been reading also seemed to disappear for a while around the same time. Generally for various reason but it just seemed a bit odd. However, slowly but surely I’ve been playing regularly again, so I figured I blog a bit more.

Now with my Warrior sitting at 80, I decided to start running up my rogue. Or at least run her up enough so that she can start opening those lockboxes the rest of the guild have been sending her. I should say the rest of the Plush Kitty Toys send her since she’s actually in her own guild.

Don’t know why but it’s been a chore to play WoW lately. I just can’t seem to get motivated, on any of my alts. So it’s taken me a couple of weeks to chug my warrior over to 80.

Ever since Wrath came out, our guild has pondered the questions “how many do we need for Kara now?” It has always been rare to have anything like 10 of us on at any given time so our usual Kara runs had been 4 or 5 of us and the rest as pick-ups. But it would be interesting to see how few we needed now that we’re 10 levels higher. Some of my guild was thinking two, a tank and a high-end dps. I felt at least three because no matter how much damage that dps is doing, it wouldn’t be enough to kill something before the tank died. So my minimum was three, the regular configuration of tank, healer, dps. (We were both right in a way as you’ll see.) I also was thinking that Morose and Netherspite would be difficult even then with so few.

Almost a month since my last writing. That’s partially because the computer that has all my web publishing software finally just gave up and it took awhile to repair. And once I got it back, I just wasn’t playing WoW as much. And when I did play, I didn’t really do much. It’s been a real challenge to get to 78 with my warrior. Not her fault really, I just enjoy playing my hunter more. That and also I don’t have the drive or interest of brand new content driving me, meaning her progress has been more of a chore than anything else. But at least I made it to 78, just a bit more pushing should bring her to 80 and then I can piddle around with one of my other characters.

Odd title since as far as I know, nobody reads this other than myself. Either way, things have conspired to make it difficult to post. One, work has been busy and I tend to write these things throughout the day at work as a break. Two, this computer, which holds all my web authoring software, has been acting up lately. So finally, a compilation of all the silliness I’ve done in WoW over the past few days…

We are now up to patch 3.0.9 which my co-worker refers to as a “null-patch”. Not exactly but I’m also not really affected by any of the changes. The hunter ones are aimed towards BM hunters, which I do applaud. If a tweak allows those who love to be BMs to be BMs and not lose out on dps, then I’m all for it. Although I am hearing that it doesn’t quite make up the difference just yet. (This post is coming out a bit late because the system I do my web publishing from decided it needed a nap.)

I still remember when Burning Crusade came out. Stepping out of the portal, you were greeted by the sight of some very, very big things thrashing around in battle. The landscape in Hellfire Pennisula was pretty cool and the risk of essentially falling off the planet was also interesting. Each new area was pretty cool and having to deal with new factions to get rep with was neat. But through it all, there really wasn’t any particular thing I could talk to others and encourage them to do. Well, in Wrath of the Lich King, that wasn’t the case. If you do anything, I encourage everyone to do the Wrathgate quest line at least once in your playing. You’ll enjoy it.

I’m not quite sure why but I could be online for a couple of hours, doing stuff like earning my 100 Dalaran Cooking Awards achievement and doing the odd dailies here and there for money and not get a single bite in the Looking For Group channel. Then I fly into Sholazar Basin and suddenly I get an invite. Usually for somewhere on the other side of the continent. I’m starting to think I’m hidden on the LFG lists until I enter Sholazar.
