Lo-Quality WoW: As Last Scene on Lo-Quality WoW
by lqwow on May.03, 2010, under General
As stated in my personal blog, life got complicated suddenly for me last year when I suddenly found myself laid-off from work. World of Warcraft wasn’t as important anymore and the software I had been writing in was Mac-specific, and I didn’t have personal Mac computers. But now, I have a new job that I’ve settled in to and I’ve installed this blog to a WordPress build, so I’ll slowly get back in to the swing of things here.
Lo-Quality WoW: Trying to Catch Up
by lqwow on Sep.14, 2009, under General
Yeah, I’ve been slacking on this blog. It’s easy when this is essentially an exercise in writing for me since I have no audience. And I felt I would just write a long general post covering the past week than trying to split everything out as I usually do.
Lo-Quality WoW: Patch Day! 3.2 is Here!
by lqwow on Aug.04, 2009, under General
Well, I was going to write about the very funny Naxx 25 I tacked into last night. Or some of the insanity I’m going through, leveling or upgrading gear on my alts. Except patch 3.2 came out and I’m going to be extremely distracted.
Lo-Quality WoW: Weekend Wrap, Alternative Edition
by lqwow on Jul.27, 2009, under General
This was a very odd weekend for me. Just couldn’t get into a raid that went anywhere. Well, I did get into one as my hunter, which I’ll talk about in the hunter specific post, but that was it. I also played a bit more than I usually do for a weekend. But since I just couldn’t get into something interesting, I ended up playing a lot of my alts. It was very interesting since I haven’t played some of them seriously for a while and they’ve changed. So probably through this week I’ll be writing class specific posts for a lot of my lower-level alts, to just give my impressions.
Lo-Quality WoW: Being an Achievement Whore
by lqwow on Feb.06, 2009, under General
Ever since the inclusion of Achievements in WoW, there has been mixed feelings about them. Some people love them, going out of their way to kill turkeys or love a squirrel. Others loathe them, shunning the former group. And if you’ve been reading this blog, you know I’m deep into the former. Soon after their appearance, I was there, jumping from high places and eating all sorts of odd foods, trying to get achievements. Watching this, one of my guildmates immediately referred to me as an “Achievement Whoreâ€, and yes sir, that’s what I am.

Lo-Quality WoW: What’s In a Name?
by lqwow on Feb.05, 2009, under General
When I started playing WoW, I created my first character and was looking for a name. And I did what I usually do with characters in fantasy settings. I picked a letter and then merged a bunch of consonants and vowels until I came up with something that would plausibly be a name. Thus came my hunter Keyalnon. If you do a search on that name, you pretty much only find references to my character. Likewise, he’s the only character in the WoW armory with that name. It was unique. It helped define my character.

Lo-Quality WoW: Patch Day
by lqwow on Jan.20, 2009, under General
Today is patch day and that means patch 3.0.8 is now live. And as many other hunters, I’m a bit annoyed at the nerf bat hit we took. Unlike other places, I really don’t work the math out but even I know that dropping the attack power to Steady Shot from 20% to 10% is gonna hurt. And removing the secondary target effect of Explosive Shot? That mainly annoys me because I’ve lost my main AoE attack. Yes, I know I have Volley but half the time, in the middle of a fight, I end up with a weird positioning of my targeting for it and I don’t quite do as much damage as I should. At least they upped the damage but it definitely affects the way I play.
Lo-Quality WoW: Main, Alts, and others
by lqwow on Jan.10, 2009, under General
So, what is a “main A “main†is your main alter-ego. The character you most identify with or the one you play the most. Does that mean that your “main†never changes? Nope, it can change several times over the years. WoW is always changing, players are always changing, so will your “main†will change at times.

Lo-Quality WoW: The Beginning
by lqwow on Jan.09, 2009, under General
As all things, we’ll start at the beginning. How did I start playing World of Warcraft? It had to do with moving to my current company. At my current workplace, we use Mac laptops. Now considering that I have a UNIX background, the Mac works best for me except in one area, gaming.
