Lo-Quality WoW

It’s sort of odd running up my second character through the WotLK content. The focus is so different. The pace is a bit more relaxed, and half the time I only vaguely remembered what my hunter did when doing these quests. Of course, the main irony is that my warrior actually has the Northern Exposure achievement while my hunter has yet to run across one of those rare spawns, and I’ve played him so much more…

When I ran my hunter at the beginning of Wrath, it was generally a race. Because there were so many people and all the new content, as soon as I felt confident enough for my hunter to move to a new area, he’d move on. This time, with the leisure to actually clear quite a bit of content before moving on, it’s been a completely different experience. For instance, I did quite a bit of Borean Tundra and only just last night started doing Dragonblight items. As such, my warrior was at the upper edge of the level range instead of the lower edge my hunter ran on. Of course my warrior was never quite a powerful as my hunter was, so it probably evened out.

Then again, just having to pay attention to experience again is kinda funny. And even with my horrible memory, I still generally remember where I’m supposed to go for certain things. So it’s not too bad since I don’t spend a lot of time wandering aimlessly but I probably aren’t getting all the xp I would get from accidentally going to the wrong place. And it’s amazing how much all the exploration and killing xp builds up after time.

Actually my main problem has been that as nice as some of the quest rewards have been, most are general use rather than tanking gear. Now, I’m not really tanking at the moment, but I like to be ready to do my “job” if the moment comes up. Yes, I can carry two sets of gear but even that always annoyed me. Mainly because I need to remember what gear is stuff I need to hold around “just in case” and stuff I need to disenchant. Heck, most enchanters probably have this problem. Or stuff I’m keeping because you need just one more level before you can wear it…

But it was fairly productive night regardless. Finished most of the Wintergarde Keep quests. Also got the breadcrumb quests over to Grizzly Hills and over to the 7th Legion Front. I’m very much looking forward finishing the Angrathar the Wrath Gate quest chain. I know when I saw it for the first time with my hunter, all I could think of was “wow!” Really cool. Now if I can only remember which quests lead into that chain…
