Lo-Quality Hunter: Proto-Drake High, Healer Low
by lqwow on May.20, 2010, under Hunter
If it seems like I’ve been focusing on my Warrior exclusively, I really haven’t. I just haven’t raided on my Hunter lately. I have been doing his dailies, because a little extra gold is always a good thing. I also ran a few randoms and a few non-raid things, just for achievements, because that’s part of my psychosis.
Earlier in the month, I actually buckled down and worked on getting my School of Hard Knocks achievement. For most of it, I only was able to do it because players on both sides had an unspoken agreement to help each perform those actions. Of course there were those who were still pissed because they wanted to actually do battlegrounds straight. But the thing is, the mutual cooperation only last the first few days of the week, then it’s back to normal. They could afford to miss two or three days of BGs.
But then again, I’m also maxed out on honor points, which isn’t quite as hard as it used to be and just needs time and dedication to accomplish. And for the most part, if I saw a horde player with his orphan out, I assumed he was doing the achievement. No orphan, he was fair play. So it took a couple of hours, and several battlegrounds, but I managed it, getting the achievement as well as the For the Children achievement to boot.
That left me with just The Masquerade to finish off. Two years and all I had were the Ninja and Pirate wands applied to me. Not sure what that says about me. Anyway, I pretty much pleaded with my guildmates for help. It took a few days but my guildmates finally were able to cycle enough through their alts to get me the necessary wands.Â
With The Masquerade done, Hallowed Be Thy Name achievement was now completed. Which of course led up to the whole point of this exercise, earning the What A Long, Strange Trip It’s Been achievement. And along with that, was of course my Reins of the Violet Proto-Drake. Took me twice as long as it really should have but I had nothing else to focus on lately.
Now with my Warrior running randoms, it just so happened that she was there with someone who managed to earn his Looking For Multitudes achievement, which surprised me. I remember my Hunter earning his Looking for Many achievement, but not that one.
Took a few more randoms, most of which didn’t suck except for the Heroic: Utgarde Keep where someone dropped out as soon as we zoned in. I don’t know why people try and do the “random” then get pissed off when it’s not one they like. Utgarde Keep is so fast nowadays that it’s negligible and we probably cleared the whole instance well before the random dungeon timeout wore off on him. Either way, I finally got my 100th person, the Looking for Multitudes achievement and my brand new Perky Pug!
So while my new riding mount was the highlight of my recent week, the low has been the lack of healers for our scheduled raids. I know of 6 healers within Schrödinger’s Cats, and when you throw in my guild healer, you would think that’d be enough. Apparently not since that’s sort of been the main reason we haven’t raided ICC lately. It’s supposed to be going on tomorrow night, but I’ll just be in my “wait and see” mode for now.
