After a couple of false starts, we finally had a chance to go back in to Icecrown Citadel 10-man.  We’re sort of at an odd place at the moment.  We’re skilled and geared enough that normal mode for the earlier bosses is too easy, but not geared or skilled enough to take on heroic mode on a regular basis. Patch days suck.  They always causing issues and more than likely have hit one or more of your characters with a nerf bat.  Worst, is when a new expansion comes out.  When Burning Crusade came out, everyone was in the outlands and it took forever just to complete the first 3 quests because hundreads of other players are all trying to kill the same things you are.  Between the two are upgrade days. Nothing is more frustrating than getting yourself psyched up to go raiding and having that desire smashed.  Earlier we had to drop out because our off-tank had computer issues.  Then most people couldn’t show up the next night.  Then on the rescheduled night, we didn’t have an off-tank at all! With Palidron’s doing their 25-man’s on Tuesday and Wednesday (US time), it looks like my raiding time is going to be restricted to the weekends for the forseeable future.  Which isn’t bad, that gives me time to goof off a little.  My main problem is that we’ve picked up some newer raiders and it’s slowed us back down again. Having missed the Agency’s 10-man ICC yesterday, I wasn’t sure if I’d get any raid time this week.  That’s when the former Schrödinger’s Cats contacted me for a 10-man.  So off we went. (continue reading…)

Last week, the guild leader of Schrödinger’s Cats mentioned that they were in discussion to merge with another guild called Palidrons.  While this doesn’t affect me directly since I never joined their guild, it does potentially affect my “standing” on their raid team.  And I found out yesterday, they formally joined Palidrons. Tonight we continued with our ICC 10 run.  So we start where we left off, getting our heads handed to us by Saurfang in heroic mode.  Since we had a slightly different raid group, we decided to do a modified tactic.

Since we hadn’t done an ICC raid for a few days, it gave me a little time to go and fish for the ingredients for Fish Feasts.  Usually I stock up enough to get two full stacks of feasts.  This time, I actually got a little more and went into ICC with 56 feasts sitting in my bags.  My bags are probably going to smell funny for weeks…

Last night I actually was put on to the raid team.  Since nobody had remembered to extend the raid-ID from last week, they started with a “clean” instance.  They had managed to clear the Lower Spire and Festergut, which is the point we started.

Another quiet non-raiding night for me.  The raid group decided to run some new people through ICC and since one of the in-guild hunter’s was already going along they asked me to sit.  Really didn’t mind, there’s nothing that I want to buy using the Emblems of Frost you get and while there was maybe one or two drops that I could still use, it was more important to run the new people through to learn the fights.  And since nothing else was happening, let’s continue my little tour of ICC from a hunter’s point of view, covering the Frostwing Halls and The Frozen Throne.
