Friday’s night was interesting in all sort of wrong ways.  I already hadn’t been sure if I’d make it because of a birthday dinner.  Well, at dinner I did my normal drinking and when we finished, I was happy to find that I had made it home in time for the raid.  And I was still feeling the effects of the drinks. Well it was time for our 10-man weekly, and I knew our raid leader wasn’t going to be on, so the assistant raid leader was in charge.  The main problem was that our raid leader is also our best tank.  In fact, of the tanks we normally use, none of them were available.  I also knew there were a few others who were saying their availability may be bad this week.  So I wasn’t even sure how we’d do. Apparently, quite a bit because we spent most of last night trying to get people to do the bite part of the Blood Queen fight correctly.  Everything else, the air phase, the shifting shadow, the blood link thingy, all worked.  (Well, except one air phase where I died but that was partially my fault.)  (continue reading…)

So I log on at my normal time to suddenly see a patch being loaded.  Uh oh, that’s usually never a good thing.  Except it’s primarily a null-effect patch.  What do I mean?  The big thing it adds is the Ruby Sanctum, which isn’t available for North America!  The vote kick feature has been changed, but I rarely use it.  The chat frames are different, but I haven’t done anything with it.  And I can now add friends based off their battle.net accounts, which I don’t know.  So pretty much the patch did nothing to me except cause a few errors in several of my addons! Friday night we gathered to continue our raid.  Instead of starting off with Blood Prince Council, we decided to tackle the Plague bosses since we were pretty sure we could do that.  So first up was Rotface on Heroic. (continue reading…)

With scheduled 25-man raids, the Palidrons didn’t need any puggers, so I got to spend some time fishing to restock my Fish Feast supply.  Didn’t do much beyond that the past two nights.  But then last night, we started in on our regular 10-man. (continue reading…)

After a couple of false starts, we finally had a chance to go back in to Icecrown Citadel 10-man.  We’re sort of at an odd place at the moment.  We’re skilled and geared enough that normal mode for the earlier bosses is too easy, but not geared or skilled enough to take on heroic mode on a regular basis. Patch days suck.  They always causing issues and more than likely have hit one or more of your characters with a nerf bat.  Worst, is when a new expansion comes out.  When Burning Crusade came out, everyone was in the outlands and it took forever just to complete the first 3 quests because hundreads of other players are all trying to kill the same things you are.  Between the two are upgrade days. Nothing is more frustrating than getting yourself psyched up to go raiding and having that desire smashed.  Earlier we had to drop out because our off-tank had computer issues.  Then most people couldn’t show up the next night.  Then on the rescheduled night, we didn’t have an off-tank at all! Had an oddly busy, yet not busy night.  With no raid scheduled, I debated on what to do and then finally figured I’d putter around on my Warrior.  So I log on and immediately sign up for a random.  And as I waited, I flew over to Sholazar Basin to see if I could wrap up a few more quests.
