So, what is a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153main\u00e2\u20ac\u009d? A \u00e2\u20ac\u0153main\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is your main alter-ego. The character you most identify with or the one you play the most. Does that mean that your \u00e2\u20ac\u0153main\u00e2\u20ac\u009d never changes? Nope, it can change several times over the years. WoW is always changing, players are always changing, so will your \u00e2\u20ac\u0153main\u00e2\u20ac\u009d will change at times.

\nSo, what is an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153alt\u00e2\u20ac\u009d? Basically any character you have that isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t your \u00e2\u20ac\u0153main\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. Is it necessary to have one? Nope. I know several people who have only one character. Making an alt means dedicating time and effort in working on a character who isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t your main, going through all the pains of leveling up a new character and more than likely, learning a new style of play. So why make them? Because you may find a character you like more, one that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s even more fun to play or better suits your personality.
\nFor me, my main is my hunter. Yes, he was my first character. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll explain that a bit more in another post but when I think of WoW, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s my hunter who I think about. He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the one I know the best, the one I have the most fun playing really. He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the one whom I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m doing all sort of demented things to build up his achievement list. He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the one whom I tweak and work hard on getting the best gear he can possible can. Heck, he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the natural one who came to reality when I had a chance to make a FigurePrints figure.<\/p>\n
In that case, why isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t this blog called \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Lo-Quality Hunter\u00e2\u20ac\u009d instead of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Lo-Quality WoW\u00e2\u20ac\u009d? Because I realize that someday, he may not be my main. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve seen other blogs, that start out primarily for one class but the blogger suddenly loses interest in the class or changes mains and then struggles as they end up talking about their new class more than anything else. I figure I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d head that off from the start and just make a general WoW blog and then having the individual classes written out as categories. Of course, hunters will see the bulk of the love for now, but I fully intend to write about the other classes as time permits.<\/p>\n
Well, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve talked about \u00e2\u20ac\u0153main\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153alts\u00e2\u20ac\u009d so what\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153others\u00e2\u20ac\u009d mentioned in the title? For me, they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re my alt\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s who I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve actually moved to pretty high levels and I find myself playing them quite a bit. Not as much as my hunter, of course, but still a interesting chunk of time. For the most part, these are characters who I ended up leveling for external reasons, primarily my guild. When we started doing instances, we needed someone to be a tank and thus, my warrior got leveled. We didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have a high level jewelcrafter, so my mage suddenly found herself getting boosted. Our guild\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s main rogue didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t spend time on her lockpicking skills, so my rogue leveled up so that she could pick those pesky lockboxes.<\/p>\n
So yes, going into Wrath of the Lich King, I had 4 level 70 characters. Then again, so did my guildmate who has a hunter, mage, druid and paladin at 70 when the Lich King popped up. What does this mean to you, the reader? Nothing really, other than to explain why certain classes will seem to get spotlighted more than others. I have played each and every class, and you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be seeing stuff on each, but naturally those I know best, the ones I play the most, will get the coverage.<\/p>\n
