It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been a real challenge to get to 78 with my warrior. Not her fault really, I just enjoy playing my hunter more. That and also I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have the drive or interest of brand new content driving me, meaning her progress has been more of a chore than anything else. But at least I made it to 78, just a bit more pushing should bring her to 80 and then I can piddle around with one of my other characters.<\/p>\n
Actually, ever since I finally got my cold-weather flying skill, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been forcing myself to do the Troll Patrol daily set in Zul\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Drak. While you really don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t need to do it within the 20 minute period, it is a challenge but almost next to impossible to do on a ground mount. There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s just too many things that will attack you if you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re running around on the ground. And while my warrior can kill them, it still takes awhile. Her hammer isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t exactly a high speed kill weapon.<\/p>\n
The additional rep and money aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t bad either. It also allowed me to earn the 50 Daily Quests Complete<\/a> achievement. And since I was in the area, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been trying to complete the various Zul\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Drak quest chains. Most of them I actually find interesting, especially considering the backstory for all of it. I also racked up the Explore Zul\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Drak<\/a> achievement. Granted, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s almost a cheap achievement since one of the quests has you doing a sort of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153recon flight\u00e2\u20ac\u009d of the area and allows you to explore most of the map as it is.<\/p>\n And as the secondary tank, I also did some tanking duties along the way. Took a couple of alt 57\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s into Hellfire Ramparts. A little under the range for that instance normally but as long as I kept the attention on myself and got a couple of heals, it was alright. The only tight spot I was worried about was where in the instance, after going up the ramp, you have to face 5 mobs. Yes, warriors can now effectively tank multiple mobs but I still worry with that many. All it takes is one to break free and the two alts would be very dead in short order. But we muddled through and they got their Hellfire Ramparts<\/a> achievement and a load of xp that it was worth it.<\/p>\n But going along with that, last night we decided to do a quick jaunt into Azjol-Nerub. My hunter has been in there several times but this was the first time with my warrior. So I was familiar with the fights, but not from a tanking perspective. Which was rather important when I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know that the Anub\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ar Skirmishers were immune to taunt and our healer died. I always wondered why tanks tended to target them first but never knew the reason until last night.<\/p>\n We managed to get Krik\u00e2\u20ac\u2122thir on the second try. Hadronox went down easily enough, although we did lose some people to the poison effect. Considering how hard a time we had the first time we went into Azjol-Nerub and went up against Hadronox, it was a nice change.<\/p>\n Anub\u00e2\u20ac\u2122arak was interesting in that again, the gap between knowing the fight as a dps and knowing it as a tank was apparent. Particularly the pound attack. It took me awhile to figure out how to deal with it. Fortunately, the few times I was affected by it, I had enough of a threat build that nobody pulled the aggro off of me while I was stunned. The adds during the burrowed phase was also interesting. As a dps, I would just stand to the side and blast them down. As a tank, I needed to quickly spot where my healer was and pull anything off her before they ate her. But we made it and got my Azjol-Nerub<\/a> achievement to show for it.<\/p>\n Otherwise, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m still on the lookout for decent tanking gear. Most of what I see is still heavily favoring dps or spell builds. Granted, my warrior has never been that buff as a tank but I still think she should have relatively more hps then her dps people.
