I had originally planned on working on my warrior most of the night but those two instances with my hunter took up quite a bit of time, and the beer distracted me. Now on my warrior, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the battle of Omen, and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a very, very, very bad battle.<\/p>\n
Which starts out with me realizing that I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have my tanking gear on! I had put together a set that was more dps oriented for general questing since I wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t tanking all that much. So it figures that the next time I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m on, we immediately need my warrior to tank. Pretty much the story of my life…<\/p>\n
Anyway, the battle actually starts well. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m able to hold aggro pretty well and with a druid and priest healing me, my lower than average stamina isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t much of a problem. Of course I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m also blowing quite a bit of my talents, but I figure it was worth it. I was wrong. First I see our healer go down and then our hunter pulls aggro and Omen seems dead set on ignoring my taunts. I eventually do get the aggro back but die shortly thereafter and Omen rampages through the group.<\/p>\n
It takes awhile to regroup and settle for another try. And it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s almost a duplicate of the first try. Apparently the starfall was killing the priest and we just didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have enough high powered characters with us to get it done. In that configuration, the only 80 we had was our hunter and everyone else was 75 or below. I think we only did about 250k damage to him of the 5.9 million<\/em> we needed to do. At this point I called it. We sometimes accomplish some pretty amazing feats because we don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know any better but in this case, it just wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t worth it. I mainly felt sorry for the warlock who had joined us but he actually took it in stride. (Although he did briefly consider waking his wife to join the fun. Fortunately, he knew better than to try.)<\/p>\n Now when I had done omen previously, it was in a group of about a dozen but most of us had been 80. (Oddly enough, our tank was only 70 or so.) It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s times like this where having a bigger guild or one that was more of a raiding guild would have been nice but we do the best with what we got.
