Today is patch day and that means patch 3.0.8 is now live. And as many other hunters, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m a bit annoyed at the nerf bat hit we took. Unlike other places, I really don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t work the math out but even I know that dropping the attack power to Steady Shot from 20% to 10% is gonna hurt. And removing the secondary target effect of Explosive Shot? That mainly annoys me because I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve lost my main AoE attack. Yes, I know I have Volley but half the time, in the middle of a fight, I end up with a weird positioning of my targeting for it and I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t quite do as much damage as I should. At least they upped the damage but it definitely affects the way I play.<\/p>\n
\nThe only other thing that really jumps out and affects me is the fact that Kill Shot\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s cooldown is now 15 seconds instead of 35. Does kind of make me wonder, if hunter\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s were doing too much dps, why give us something that allows us to dish out some major damage? Granted it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s only when something is at 20% health, but previously I could get only one Kill Shot off during a boss fight and now I may be able to get two or three off. We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll have to see how it plays but it just seems odd to me.<\/p>\n
Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s see, what else is going on in this patch? Some changes to achievements, which is generally good. I am looking forward to actually being able to spend the Wintergrasp Marks of Honor I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been collecting. My other secondary character classes were affected but for the most part, their changes were either to things I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have or don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t use with those classes. There was a bunch of changes to professions but again, for the most part, they don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t particularly affect me all that much. Or at least I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think they do.<\/p>\n
So, like most \u00e2\u20ac\u0153minor\u00e2\u20ac\u009d patches, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m pretty ambivalent to it. I know there always seems to be big panic and more than a little complaints depending on who got hit with the nerf bat in the patch. But since for the most part I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m sort of ignorant, on purpose mind you, of the math and specifics of things, it doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t quite bug me as much as it does others. I just play the game.<\/p>\n
Did briefly log on during lunch, which was bad. Lag was crazy and I couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even login for several minutes. I did get in on a Wintergrasp but it was the typical \u00e2\u20ac\u0153push buttons during the lag and hope I take some of them with me\u00e2\u20ac\u009d game. Then at the very end, the world server went down, or at least that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the message I got.
